There is nothing like seeing Christmas through eyes of a child. Everything about the season is magical to them. From stringing lights on the tree to baking cookies, shaking presents and trying to guess what’s inside, kids love so much about the holidays. Yet in all of the fun of celebrating, it can be easy to leave out the most important part, that Christmas really is about Jesus and sharing His love with others.
That’s why Sunday, December 17th we are creating a special experience for our K-5th-grade kids in all of our Sunday morning Drive-In and Backlot environments. We will kick off the day with some awesome Christmas worship and then transition into a live drama called “Not My Birthday” that will bring the Bethlehem story to life in a fun and magical way that kids will never forget. You do not want your elementary child to miss this.
Even if you don’t have children in this age group, this is a fantastic opportunity to invite friends with elementary kids to join you at Southland for the very first time. Their kids will have a blast and will walk away knowing beyond the shadow of a doubt that Christmas, like every day, really is all about Jesus.
Also, just a reminder, during our Christmas Eve services on December 24th our elementary environments will be closed during all services and we invite you to worship together as a family. Nursery and preschool environments will be open during the Sunday morning services, and for Nicholasville and Lexington campuses we will be offering nursery only during the 5:00 pm service.
