So Many Great Things!
Dec 19, 2017

In my house right now is a pumpkin cheesecake, fresh chocolate chip cookies, Godiva chocolate brownies, and Christmas candy. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year. At the same time, there are more sweets than I could/would/should eat. Every now and then there are so many good things it’s hard to keep up. It’s been that way in November and December here at Southland. We opened up and sold out an entire Women’s Conference in 5 days, collected well over a million dollars through our Unleashed Offering, and saw dozens baptized across all of our campuses. Not to mention that we continue to give away over $10,000 each week to families in need through Dollar Club.

The extra dollar you give each week is creating a revolution of love in our community. Since we haven’t been able to share these stories on Sunday’s here are a few of the ways that we’ve blessed people recently. Your giving helped :

  • Get a disabled woman a car to get to and from her doctor's appointments.
  • A girl whose mom passed away from cancer get on her feet. She hasn’t even finished high school and is living on her own. She has a promising future but has suffered much loss at a young age. You have absolutely transformed a hopeless situation.
  • A young mom and daughter recover from the sudden and tragic loss of her husband. Your giving helps them prepare for life without him by covering living expenses and funeral costs.
  • A family where dad had emergency surgery to remove a large brain tumor. He ran his own business and is now struggling to make ends meet. Your gift lifted their burden as he recovers.
  • A young single mom that had recently escaped an abusive situation. She and her kids were in a bad car accident, but all survived. She is going through extensive rehab, and Dollar Club is helping cover costs so they can keep their home until mom can get back to work.
  • A first responder in Central, KY. He was injured working around his house and has had to have multiple surgeries to recover from his injury. His short term disability ran out, and your giving helped his family keep their home and cover expenses as he rehabs to get back to work.

We would like to thank you for giving so these blessings can continue. Please take some time to pray for all of the people and families involved.

Also, be sure to join us January 7 for a new series called Sweet Dreams! We’ll talk about what keeps us up at night and how the realization that God is in control can help.
