Hey Jesus Prom Volunteers! There will be lots of new things at Jesus Prom this year! First, there are 2 venues: An Outdoor Party (7-8pm) and an Indoor Dance Party (8-9pm). There will be tons of people - the Jesus Prom Party Squad - who will provide Prommers with an awesome experience. There will be a an Outdoor Team, an Indoor Team, a Health & Safety Team, a Registration Team, and a Saturday Morning Clean Up Team. Select the best volunteer position for you below!
Welcome all prommers to the party and show them where to get checked in. Once everyone has checked in, you will help clean up the check in area (Age 16+ or accompanied by an adult, 18 and up).
Food / Water
Help prommers get food and water throughout the Outdoor Block Party. Once the prommers move inside, you will help clean up the outside area (Age 16+ or accompanied by an adult, 18 and up).
You’ll be outside jumping in anywhere and everywhere to help prommers: getting something to eat, playing games, and helping with any questions or needs that arise. Once the prommers move inside to dance, you will help clean up the outside area (Ages 16+ or accompanied by an adult, 18 and up).
You will spend the evening dancing with our guests and making sure no one is left out. Once the party is over, you will help get the auditorium ready for Sunday services (Age 16+ or accompanied by an adult, 18 and up).
You will provide caregivers a place to relax while their Prommer dances! When the caregivers head home for the evening, you will clean up the space to be ready for Sunday services. (Ages 16+ or accompanied by an adult, 18 and up).
You will distribute water to thirsty prommers enjoying the indoor dance party. You will be responsible for restocking water stations and cleaning up afterward. (Ages 16+ or accompanied by an adult, 18 and up).
Be available inside to help prommers with any questions or needs that arise. (Age 16+ or accompanied by an adult , 18 and up).

What is my arrival time?
Arrival times vary depending on your volunteer role. You’ll receive an email closer to prom with your role specific details.
Where do I enter and park for the event?
Our parking team will direct you from the New Circle Road or Richmond Road entrances to the appropriate parking lot when you come on site.
What can I bring into the event?
There will not be a place to store any belongings in the building so please lock everything securely in your car.
How do I get a t-shirt?
We will be giving each volunteer a t-shirt to wear on Prom night at training night on Monday, September 10. When you fill out your registration form, please be sure to fill out your t-shirt size.
What if I want to connect with a specific prommer?
We will host the prom in two parts: an Outdoor Game Party and an Indoor Dance Party. Rather than matching volunteers with specific prommers, all volunteers will help engage all prommers in either the Outdoor Games and Food, or by cutting a rug with them at the Indoor Dance Party! Volunteer teams will serve in each area to provide every prommer with an awesome Jesus Prom experience.
What if my child isn’t old enough to volunteer?
If your child isn’t old enough to volunteer on their own, they are more than welcome to accompany you. We would prefer one on one supervision for any child under 16 years old. But keep in mind, the focus of this night is on Jesus and the Prommers. Please consider whether you will be able to focus on those priorities with your child alongside you before you make the decision to bring them with you.
Going to arrive late / need to cancel?
If you discover you won’t be able to serve that night, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Does Southland have other, similar programs which happen throughout the year?
