Some important things to note from Sunday...

Orphan Care

(1 of 5)

Sunday, November 11 is Orphan Sunday, a day set aside to remember the 153 million orphans worldwide. Statistics like that can make us feel like we cannot make a difference. Through organizations like our partner, Orphan Care Alliance, you can have an impact. For more information on how you can get involved, check out their website.

What we're studying & applying in our daily lives...

Jon Weece | Nov 11, 2018

Whether it was a parent, a teacher, a coach, or a boss, all of us have been asked to do something by someone and we didn’t do it. God expects us to listen to Him and obey Him, because he knows what is best for us and wants what is best for us. In this message we will learn that there is a direct correlation between our ability to do what God asks us to do and the quality of our lives.

A word from your campus pastor

It started at our house this week. “What’s our plan for Thanksgiving? Christmas? What does the Christmas budget look like this year?” And of course… “When are we going to put up the tree?”

Isn’t it strange that the most wonderful time of the year can also be the most stressful? I know it’s still early in the holiday game, but I’m getting ahead of it this year. I’m identifying stressors and putting helpful practices in place so that I can enjoy the holidays more.

One of my favorite Proverbs brings some holiday wisdom, “A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.” (Prov 27:12). Time, finances, and other pressures converge every year to send me into a tailspin of stress and anxiety. So I’m taking precautions this year. I can’t do the same thing I did last year and expect a different result.

I want to give you 3 simple tips for getting ahead of the holiday rush this year:

  1. Put Jesus first. Really. Everything else will fall in line if we keep Him first.  Plan to join us for worship every Sunday. Worship has a way of putting everything else in perspective. Make Sunday mornings and your daily time with Jesus non-negotiables.
  2. Margin is the word. You’ll spend more than you plan to. You’ll be invited to events that weren’t on the calendar. As you make your plans, be sure to leave enough room for those unexpected opportunities that come along.
  3. Finally, focus on others by serving. Check out our Local Impact opportunities as a way to extend hope to others in need this holiday season. Contact Nick Bernard to get involved with our Thanksgiving and Christmas outreaches.

We’re kicking off a brand new series this weekend called Double Vision. You won’t want to miss it! See you Sunday!
