I started working at Southland in June 2017, though my family and I have been attending the Georgetown campus since January 2016 and I have been a worship volunteer during that time. My role here is the Worship and Programming Pastor for the Georgetown campus, meaning I get to work with amazing musicians and volunteers to create space to praise our incredible Creator through music!
What I love about this job is the opportunity to worship with volunteers and with our Southland community! It’s such an open invitation to take part and sing at the top of your lungs. We get to do this together, and I’m so glad that it’s my JOB to make it happen! Music has always been a part of my life and I’m grateful to have had people invest me in me and who gave me the opportunity lead out as a worshipper. It has had the greatest impact on me as a follower of Jesus and as a musician. I’m so happy that I get to do music as a means of worship.
I met my wife Melissa at the University of Kentucky and we married in 2009, and have since had four amazing kids who fill our lives with crazi… joy every single day. We live in Georgetown and have fallen in love with the community! Our latest family trip was to Disney World in April 2017, and it was sheer joy to see the kids wonder at it all and experience it for the first time. Disney is our new happy place! We also sing all the Disney songs all the time and quote from the movies.
So, why can’t you give Elsa a balloon?
Because she’ll let it go.
Get it!? You’re welcome ;-)
