Twelve years ago I began my ministry experience here at Southland working in what is now Formation. Five years ago I moved to the Global Outreach team, focusing on helping in partner development, and serving with my education background with the partners. The first area means spending time with the staff of each partner, listening to their needs, and where possible guiding them to ways they can do their ministries more effectively.
The second area allows me to use my education background in a multiple ways. I teach courses in discipleship, teaching, and educational psychology. Leading and guiding distance education for the partners is another area of my work. I also act as a consultant with the partners in their educational systems, helping them achieve their mission, particularly in curriculum and instruction.
Facilitating learning is my passion, especially when it is learning to be a disciple of Jesus. My position gives me opportunity in Haiti and Eurasia to work with men and women who are leading in their churches, cultures, and countries to make disciple-makers who make disciple-makers.
Sue, my wife of over 45 years, and I have lived in Kentucky since 1991. We love the Bluegrass region because of the small towns, yet city close by; we love UK Men’s basketball; and we have all four of our grandchildren living here in the Commonwealth. Happiness for us is taking our children and grandchildren to Walt Disney World and seeing through our grandchildren’s eyes.
AHHH! we can't find them!
