I started working at Southland in July of 1998 and I work with and lead all the great Worship, Production and Creative staff and also get to fulfill my passions as a musician and Worshipper on Sundays! I love to collaborate with volunteers and other staff to see an project come to life that is bigger and more influential than anything we could do on our own. Finidng my purpose, beyond my musical giftings, in leading people that has brought great fulfillment to my life. My dad has been my biggest influence in every area of my life, in every area - he is a constant reminder of the best way to live a following Jesus and serving others.
I grew up in Michigan but have spent well over half my life in the Bluegrass state. While I still pull for all the northern sports teams I have always loved the pace of life in Lexington and the people - it has truly become where I’m from. I love to travel, our family camps together and I have been as far as Egypt on a missions trip but by far my most memorable trip was Leann and I’s 15th anniversary trip to Kuaui, Hawaii. There is no place like it in the world!
Southland has always been the most generous place - not just in the way people give from their finances but also in the way grace is extended to others. This church is remarkable and I believe, one of a kind.
I have a unique fear of heights, I am not afraid to walk up to the edge of a cliff but I am terrified of any surface that I can see down through that is high in the air, like glass bottom bridges. Snakes are also terrifying… so snakes on a glass bottom bridge above a canyon would destroy me!
What do you call a singing laptop? A Dell…
