Southland Students

What to Expect

Dig in with Scott as he explains what Southland Students is all about.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here's a few answers to our most common questions.

Can I join at anytime?

Absolutely! Though it helps to start in the fall when Student Groups are formed, we can always add your student in at anytime. If Southland Students is meeting, your student is always welcome to join, no matter what time of year it is!

Do I need to sign up my student before they come?

Nope! All your student needs to do is show up and we will take it from there. We will have them register themselves with some basic info (Contact info, parent email, parent cell #, etc.) so that we can get them placed in a student group the next week that they show up.

Where do I go?

Middle School:

  • When you pull into the parking lot, you’ll be able to drop your student off outside Building C. If you’d like to come in with your student on their first night, that is completely okay. Just stop by the HUB and introduce yourselves, and we’ll be sure to connect you with any information you need.

High School:

  • When you pull into the parking lot, you’ll be able to drop your student off outside Theater 81. High school students who drive themselves can park right outside Theater 81. If you’d like to come in with your student on their first night, that is completely okay. Just stop by the HUB and introduce yourselves, and we’ll be sure to connect you with any information you need.

How does pick-up work when programming is over?

With nearly 1,000 people on campus on Wednesday nights, there is a lot of traffic coming in and out at the same time. We ask that you be patient and careful as students go to their cars or rides. Feel free to park and wait for your student to finish up with Life Groups if you arrive early. In order to reduce traffic, we highly encourage carpooling when it is possible.

In general, we ask high school students to exit the doors outside Theater 81, and we ask middle school students to exit the doors outside Building C. This helps our security officers keep our students as safe as possible (instead of allowing students to exit all over the building).

How does summer look differently than the school year?

Middle School:

  • Every Wednesday at 7pm, we will meet in Building F for an hour of large group games and then break into smaller groups for a message and discussion. You can also join us for lunch on Mondays for “Bring Your Own Lunch” (BYOL). Check out the calendar (top right) or contact David at dhausknecht@southland.church for more details.

High School:

  • Every Wednesday at 7pm, we will meet in Building M (out by the softball fields) for a more laid back time that includes Bible Study, testimonies and some time to hangout. You can also join us for a Tuesday or Thursday night Small Group study. Check out the calendar (top right) or contact Richard at rweese@southland.church for more details.

Who do I contact with more questions?
