On Monday, December 7, at 6:30pm in Theater 81 at the Nicholasville Campus (5001 Harrodsburg Road), we will gather for our Annual Congregational Meeting. Our new Board of Elder candidates will be presented for affirmation. Proposed changes to our by-laws and our 2021 operating budget will be presented for a vote as well. All Southland members/partners are encouraged to attend and be a part of this important process as we close out 2020 and launch into 2021.
Meet the Elder Nominees
Ernie and his wife, Phyllis, have been married for 58 years. They have one son (Clay) who is married to Tonya, and two grandchildren. Ernie retired from Ashland Inc. where he had served as Regional Manager of Marketing in the Brand Marketing Division of Ashland Petroleum Co. Ernie has served as an Elder before over the course of 27 years at Southland as well as heading up a prayer ministry here and teaching through various Adult Discipleship classes.
Dewayne and Pat Ingram have been married 43 years. They have a daughter and a son and three beautiful grandchildren. Dewayne works at the University of Kentucky as a Professor of Horticulture. He’s been a member of Southland for 21 years. His gifts of teaching and administration have been utilized over the years at Southland in many different circumstances.
John Edward Norman
John and his wife Alecia have three children: Lottie Ann (10), Cece (8), and Harry (5). John owns and manages Norman Law, a general law practice in Lexington, and became Fayette County's public administrator in April. John’s areas of ministry include playing in the worship band since 1998. He has been on multiple mission trips to build homes, play music, and feed the homeless. He also served as 4th grade basketball coach at Breckenridge Elementary and serves as a head tee-ball coach with Eastern Little League.
Sean has attended Southland his entire life. It was there he met his wife of 23 years, Kim. They have two children, Camden (19) and Riley (14). Sean is Assistant Vice President of Human Resources at Whitaker Bank Corporation of Kentucky. He has previously served as a marriage mentor as well as in children’s ministry and currently serves on the production team as well as a coach in the high school ministry. He is humbled to be called and to serve in this role as Elder.
