On Monday, December 6th at 6:30pm in the Wayne B Smith Chapel, we will gather for our Annual Congregational Meeting to vote on our new Board of Elder candidates, changes to our by-laws, and our 2022 operating budget. All Southland members/partners are encouraged to attend and be a part of these important processes.
Meet the Elder Nominees
I have been married to my wife, Shannon, for 18 years, and we have 3 children, Lauren Clay (16), Ty (14), and Sarah (10). I have attended Southland since 1997 and served in several ministries over the years. I currently serve as a leader for a 210 Leaders and a young adults group. I also serve on the board of the Refuge Clinic. I am a healthcare administrator and little league baseball coach. I enjoy spending time with my family, and we enjoy spending time on the beach, on the water, or in the woods.
I was born and raised in Lexington Kentucky. Sandi & I have been married 36 years. We have attended Southland 20 years. We have two sons,
two daughter-in-laws and three grandkids.
Serving at Southland is a great honor for myself and my family. I look forward to what God has in store for our church.
“Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst.” 1 Timothy 1:15 NIV
I am a sinner saved by the Grace of God! I was baptized when I was 12, but didn’t become a follower of Jesus until August 24th, 2012. That day change the course of my life. I am living proof that even the worst of us can be invited into God’s family through the blood shed by Jesus on the cross. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Rachel, for 13 years. I always say that I’m much smarter than she is because I’m the one who married UP! We have 2 amazing children, Layla (11) and Noah (7). We reside in Jessamine County and my wife teaches 5th grade math while I teach PE in Jessamine County. We have lived in Kentucky for 13 years and have attended Southland for 12 years. When we are not teaching and coaching, we enjoy family time and woodworking.
Scott and his wife Amy have been married for 37 years. Their 3 children are married and live in Lexington. They enjoy being involved with their 4 grandchildren. Scott works in the children's area as a small group leader. Scott and Amy have worked with single adults and marriage mentoring. They worship at the Lexington campus.
