We would love to have you visit us!
Welcome! We are honored that you are checking Southland out! My name is Jason Koerner and I’m the Campus Pastor for the Richmond Campus. I think you’ll find our staff, our volunteers, and all our people to be real, friendly, and down-to-earth. We enjoy being around each other and we care for one another and our community. Let me tell you a little more about myself and then a little more about what makes our campus unique. Then, I’ll look forward to meeting you and hearing your story!
I grew up in Cincinnati. My dad was a music minister at my home church and my mom played the piano every Sunday. Even though I am 6’8”, I’d rather pick up a pair of drum sticks or guitar instead of a basketball. I grew up loving music and theater—and still do. My dad grew up a farmer in northwest Ohio, so hard work was ingrained into me. To this day, I enjoy fixing things myself and doing manual labor. I was a Children's Pastor for over 22 years so I have a huge heart for kids and families. I have two girls in college and my wife works in addiction recovery.
The Richmond Campus has been described as a very diverse group of people who aren’t afraid to roll their sleeves up and get involved. We love helping people and we want to unleash a revolution of Love in Madison County. Just going to church on Sunday morning doesn’t cut it for us. We want to BE the church in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and schools. Groups are also important to us because they allow us to grow relationships and build accountability. So, if you are new here, I’d encourage you to jump in to find a place to serve and a group to join. We’d be happy to help! Just let us know!
