Sunday, May 9 is Mother’s Day. Sunday, June 20 is Father’s Day. Both of those days can be very difficult for people because we live in a broken world. What does God ask us to do as a result of that? Micah 6:8 reminds us to do what is right and love mercy. Some Bible translations use the words do justice instead of do what is right.

I used to think that justice was merely retribution. Lately though, I’ve been learning that biblical justice is more about restoration. Ultimately, because of the victory secured by Christ through His death and resurrection, God is in the process of restoring us and the Earth back to perfection, but for now we have broken marriages, broken families, sickness, infertility, orphans, widows, and the list goes on.

So, lately, I have been trying to ask myself, “How can God use me to bring wholeness to this situation I’m walking into? How can God use me to bring restoration?” You see it’s just not our job to bring “retribution”.

This Sunday, even if it’s difficult to be at church on Mother’s day because of perhaps losing a child, not having a mom, or infertility would you please come? We will be learning how we can bring wholeness in partnership with a wonderful local organization right here in Richmond, KY. I’m praying for you.
