It’s estimated that 690 million people are starving in the world. At Southland we want to do something about that. It’s called Meal Pack. Every year we pack 1 million meals for kids and families in Haiti and other third world countries.
In years past, most of our campuses came together to host one big meal packing event. But this year we are going to do it right here in Richmond on Saturday, March 20 at our offices. Basically, we’ll pack and seal bags of rice, beans, and flavoring and then box them up to stack on pallets and load them onto a big truck to ship off.
This is an opportunity when you can show up to serve by yourself and meet new friends around the prep table, or sign up as a family or even with your Southland Group or the team you volunteer with on Sundays. Even kids, ages 5 and up, can participate. There is something everyone can do regardless of age and capabilities.
If you’ve been part of Meal Pack before, you know we have a blast each year doing this... making a huge difference while having fun! This is many people’s favorite event of the entire year. You can sign up here!
Also, Don’t forget that this Sunday we will have our baptistery set up! If you have been thinking about being baptized, this is your chance! Register here.
