Can I contact my student while they are at CIY MOVE?

Students will be allowed to bring their cell phones with them to CIY MOVE, but can be taken away if they become a distraction. You are welcome to contact your students in the event of an emergency, but we suggest to keep contact to a minimum to leave room for the students to engage completely with the week. At the parent meeting, you will also be provided contact information for your student’s small group leader as well as your campus student pastor.

What kind of supervision will be at CIY MOVE?

High School students are encouraged to attend CIY MOVE with their small group, which is supervised by their small group leader. If your student’s small group leader is not attending CIY MOVE, they will be given a background checked adult as their small group leader for the week. There will also be Southland staff members present for the full duration of the camp who will be there to help supervise.

You will drop off your student on June 27th at the Southland Campus that your student attends and will pick them back up will be on July 3rd. The specific time for pick up and drop off will be provided at the mandatory CIY MOVE parent meeting. Students will be taken to and from Florida on Charter Buses.

What are the adult to student ratios?

Our goal is to have a ratio of 6:1 (six students to every 1 leader). We not only have at least one adult leader assigned to each student small group, but we also bring along extra Southland staff members/additional adult volunteer leaders to help supervise.
