There is a specific required form that you will need to fill out if you have any severe food allergies. This form will go directly to the Winter Retreat Food Team. The link is included with the waivers, but you can also fill it out here (High School Winter Weekend Allergy Form) if you have not yet done so. High School Winter Weekend FAQ

What kind of supervision will be at High School Winter Weekend?

High School students will attend the Winter Weekend event with their small group, which is always supervised by their Small Group Leader. If your student’s Small Group Leader is not attending High School Winter Weekend, they will be given a trained and background checked adult as their leader for the weekend. There will also be Southland Staff Members present for the full duration of the event who will be there to help supervise.

Where do I drop off my student?

High School Winter Weekend will take place at Southland’s Nicholasville campus. You can drop off and pick up your students at the Theater 81 (building B) entrance each day of the event. If you are attending with the Danville, Georgetown, or Richmond campus, please see your campus student pastor for transportation details.

What are student to leader ratios?

Our goal is to have a student to leader ratio of 6:1 (six students to every 1 leader). We not only have at least one adult leader assigned to each student small group, but we also have Southland Staff Members and additional adult volunteer leaders to help supervise.

What does my student need to bring?

  1. Bible
  2. Pen
  3. Journal
  4. Mask (If your student does not have a mask, a disposable mask can be provided to them)

What if my student needs to arrive late or leave early from High School Winter Weekend?

We know and understand that students are busy, and we want to make sure that every student can participate in High School Winter Weekend. With this being said, we strongly discourage students from arriving late or leaving early from the event. If a student needs to miss a section of High School Winter Weekend for a previously scheduled event, please contact your campus student pastor to discuss options.

Is there financial assistance?

If there is financial hardship within your family, and financial assistance is needed, there may be some assistance available. Please contact your campus student pastor for next steps.

How do I make payments?

If you have any questions regarding that payment, please see your campus student pastor.

What if my student has severe food allergies?

If your student has severe food allergies, please fill out the High School Winter Weekend Allergy Form. You will receive an email before the event (to the email that you provided on the form) with more details.

Are masks required for this event?

We ask that all participants of this event bring and wear a mask for the duration of the event.
