Dusk Til Dawn: The Dawn — Friday

Psalms 145:13
For your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom. You rule throughout all generations. The Lord always keeps his promises; he is gracious in all he does. (NLT)

Our verse for today is a powerful reminder of God’s love and sovereignty, but if we’re being honest, those things can sometimes be difficult to comprehend in our daily lives. We often feel overwhelmed by the challenges of life, and we can easily become discouraged when our circumstances don’t seem to line up with the promise of this verse.

But the truth is that God reigns over every situation, no matter how chaotic or uncertain the world may seem at times. He has promised to remain faithful and loving to us always, and that His kingdom will endure forever. No matter what we face today—hardship, struggle, or loss—we can take comfort in knowing God is still on His throne and nothing can shake His rule.

We may not understand why things happen as they do, but we can trust that God’s plans are perfect and will ultimately bring about good. As we live out our lives each day, we can rely on this assurance that no matter what happens, God is with us and His kingdom will stand for eternity.

Our lives are filled with promises, broken and kept, but when we trust in God's Word, He will never disappoint us. As we wrap up our week reflecting on God’s fulfillment of His biggest promise to us in Jesus, let us be reminded today of His unfailing love and take comfort in knowing that He is faithful and kind and we can trust in Him no matter what. For not only did God keep His promise in sending a Savior, but Jesus actually walked in our shoes and understands our pain. I pray this brings you renewed assurance of how deeply God cares about your experiences, your pain, your waiting, and YOU!

Friday’s Reflection

What aspects of your life feel like a promise that God didn’t keep? Invite Him in and talk honestly about that hurt, and ask Him to reveal the truth in that situation.
