Today’s Verse
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (ESV)
Some verses become so familiar that we stop hearing them; John 3:16 is one of those. But it’s also one of the most powerful truths in all of Scripture: God loved you so much that He gave up His Son so that you could have eternal life.
Jesus didn’t just save you once and then leave you alone to figure things out. He continues to walk with you—He is the source of your help and strength (Psalm 121).
Even after we put our faith in Jesus, life doesn’t suddenly get easy. Temptations still come. Shame creeps in. The enemy still whispers things like, you’re not good enough, you’ll never change, and God’s probably tired of you by now. Lies like these aim to pull you away from the very love that saved you.
But here’s the truth: Jesus didn’t come for perfect people—He came for the broken (Luke 5:31-32). And He’s never stopped loving you.
Romans 8 tells us that nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus—not our past, our present struggles, or even our doubts.
So if you’re feeling attacked, discouraged, or ashamed today, pause and go back to the basics: God loves you. He gave His Son Jesus for you. He is the source of new life.
