TODAY’S VERSE

Ephesians 2:10

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (ESV)

I’ve always been a planner from a very young age. I was the “everything has to go this way” kind of kid. I had my future planned out exactly how I thought would be best, but as you might guess, my plan didn’t work out. Turns out, God is also a planner, but He’s much better than I am!

From the creation of the world, God knew the exact plan He had for you. How amazing is that?! God knew what your name would be, how many hairs would be on your head, the day you’d be born, and the exact good works He has set aside for you. Good works that will allow you to point people directly to Jesus.

2 Corinthians 5:20 says, “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” God wanted us to be a part of His mission to seek and save the lost. So He calls us His ambassadors to bear witness of Christ and point others to the hope of Jesus.

The Church is God’s plan for all the nations to hear the Gospel and choose to accept Him. You are a part of the Church, which means that you have a role to play. Whether it is hosting a Bible study in your home, being a consistently positive impact on your coworkers, extending grace to someone in the community, mentoring in the schools or for a college student, or simply encouraging others by writing cards. Even the smallest things can be the biggest impact on someone’s life and faith!

In Christ, we have all we need to do good works that bring Him honor and glory. Be encouraged that you aren’t alone, and you have a God who has put you where you are for a purpose. Be available to say “yes” to all that Christ has in store for you.

APPLICATION

What is the good that God’s prepared for you to do? Take some time to reflect on this today and say “yes” to what He’s asking of you.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for knowing me fully and having my path paved for me. May I walk in the ways You’ve shown and practice goodness that glorifies You. Give me wisdom about what You’ve set out for me to do.
