Tornado RESPONSE
Join the Southland Response contact list for real-time tornado relief updates and future response needs.
Thank you for praying for our neighbors throughout Kentucky who are dealing with the aftermath of devastating tornadoes. We’ve been in contact with state officials, local agencies, and churches in the towns impacted, and we’re working to identify ways we can step in and help.
As a church, here is how we are currently responding to support and bless our fellow Kentuckians:
Pray
Prayer is one of the first and most powerful ways we can serve those affected by the tornadoes in Kentucky. Here are some specific ways we can pray:
That God would comfort the families and friends who lost loved ones, and that He would give hope to those who lost homes and stability.
That the townspeople and first responders will have the emotional support needed to process the emotions that come from this kind of disaster.
That relief workers of every kind would bring unique skills, helpful resources, and genuine empathy to serve the needs of these communities over time.
That the Church would rise up as the hands and feet of Jesus—pastoring people through crisis, offering people hope, loving people generously, serving people selflessly, and leading community restoration in impactful ways.
Volunteer
We plan to send volunteers as our partners communicate their needs. If you would like to volunteer with us, sign up here we will contact you directly as needs for volunteering with our partners emerge.
GIVE
If you’d like to support the recovery efforts financially, we encourage you to give to our trusted partner, Christian Appalachian Project (CAP). They are already on the ground providing critical relief to those impacted by the tornadoes, offering food, shelter, supplies, and recovery assistance.
Your generosity can help meet immediate needs and bring hope to families facing the hardest days of their lives.
