It’s impossible to drive a car without a steering wheel. Even self-driving cars have them. God sent the Holy Spirit to be the “steering wheel” of our lives. With his presence and leadership in our lives we can do what God wants us to do and go where he wants us to go.

A car needs two things in order to stop and go: gas and brakes. Take away either, and it becomes essentially useless. Following God means “going” when He says “go” and stopping when He says “stop.” Prayer is how we learn to do both most effectively.
