Hang Ups
I Peter 5:8-10 | When we face suffering, we need to remember that the enemy wants to use our pain to draw us away from God. This enemy is not to be taken lightly. He desires to devour us. This message will make us more aware of Satan’s intent to destroy us and how we can stand against his attacks.
Handling Criticism with Humility
I Peter 2:22-26 | We all need to be prepared to deal with criticism. Criticism is inevitable in this life. As Christians, how we respond to and handle criticism reveals the level of our faith in God. Handling criticism gracefully is possible because Jesus vividly portrayed it, and He’s our example.
The Intellectual Side of Christianity
I Peter 3:14-16 | We have solid reasons for what we believe, and every Christian needs to be well versed in them. This doesn’t mean we should try to bully people into accepting our positions on faith, but we can gently and humbly challenge those who oppose our beliefs.
Stay The Course
1 Peter 4:12-19, 5:10 | We have a purpose far higher than the latest election. We have a mission far bigger than any political platform. We are called and commanded to love God and love people and if we will remain faithful to that mission God promises to strengthen us in the process.
Stay Connected
1 Peter 3:8, 4:7-10 | When the world moves towards chaos we can choose to move toward order. When everyone and everything is dividing and isolating we can choose to remain united. This means we have to choose harmony and listen well to each other.
Turn It Off
I Peter 5:8, I John 2:16, Proverbs 4:23, 24:30-34, Matthew 6:22 | The Bible has a lot to say about eyes. In fact, the things we look at can affect all our thoughts and interactions with God and others. Jesus said, “But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.” This message will consider how to protect ourselves from the harmful effects of all types of media.
