Mephibosheth—The Overlooked Boy at the King’s Table
2 Samuel 9 | Mephibosheth was lame in both feet after falling when he was five years old. The fall occurred after his dad and grandfather died on the battlefield. Though an outcast in a harsh society due to his disability, he later lands a lifetime reward: a seat at the king’s table. This message will focus on God’s love and inclusion of broken people like us and the place we have in his family at his table.
The Physical Side of Christianity
James 2:14-19 | Real faith helps people in real need. Our faith isn’t only for us; it’s also for others. Jesus demonstrated this daily, and we have the opportunity to live in the same way.
Serve an Imperfect Church
1 Corinthians 12:12-26 | No church is perfect because there are not perfect people in the world. That shouldn’t stop us from serving within the church. None of us can do everything, but all of us can do something.
Leading My Actions
James 1:22-27 | A transformed heart leads to a transformed life that results in loving people out of our love for Jesus.
The Compassion of Philip
Acts 8:26-40 | The grace we’ve received from God is too good to keep to ourselves. Philip looked for opportunities to share the difference that grace had made in his life, and God led him to an unlikely person, and an unlikely conversation took place as a result. In this message, we will look at our responsibility to share our faith with non-believers in a way that is true to our personality.
