Freedom—For Good Works
Weekend Scripture: Galatians 3
What are you going to do with the new you?
This week, Scott dives into Galatians 3 and the rough crowd of the city of Galatia. The Galatian people had a wild and extreme heritage marked by violence and paganism. This is why Paul wanted to be so clear to the Galatian church: Jesus, and only Jesus, can set us free. You became a Christian by grace through faith in Jesus because there is no other way.

Freedom—From the Law
Weekend Scripture: Galatians 2
Because Jesus is for everyone, His followers must welcome anyone.
Scott walks us through Galatians 2. Christ came to set us free, and that includes freedom from the Law. We are not justified by works, but through faith in Jesus Christ. Justification by works produces both hypocrisy and cowardice, and both pull us out of line with the Gospel. If we are going to be a resilient church built on Jesus' authority, we have to grow in flexibility and in strength, in grace and in truth. Which do you need to grow in?

Freedom—From Your Former Life
Weekend Scripture: Galatians 1
Jesus + nothing = everything.
Scott kicked off our next series on Freedom with a look into Galatians 1. Only Jesus sets us free from our slavery to sin. He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. You have been set free from your former life to walk in the freedom that comes through Christ alone!

Carry On—The Freedom Jesus is Offering Us
Galatians 5:13-25 | One of the reasons it’s so important to understand that we are free from sin’s bondage, penalty, and guilt is that it increases our capacity, through Jesus, to express joy and experience peace. This message will examine the gift of our freedom in Jesus and how it plays out in our lives in a positive way.
Conquering Addiction
Galatians 5:13-26, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 | No one ever plans to be an addict. It happens incrementally as we indulge in unhealthy behaviors and repeatedly make bad choices. “I can handle it” is the lie we perpetually choose to believe. Eventually, we realize that we can’t handle it. Such is the roller coaster ride of addiction. This message will suggest ways to overcome rather than submit to unhealthy behaviors.
Freedom In Christ
Galatians 4-5 | God’s intention toward us is freedom. He wants to see us live in the freedom that His Son secured on our behalf.
Justification by Faith
Galatians 3 | We are legally and objectively declared to be righteous based on our faith in Jesus.
Jesus + Nothing = Everything
Galatians 2 | The law has zero power to save anyone from anything.
The Gospel
Galatians 1 | The Gospel is the good news that Jesus has done for us what we could never do for ourselves.
Carry One Another’s Burdens
Galatians 6:1-3 | From divorce to cancer to bankruptcy to addiction there are a lot of heavy burdens that can keep us up at night. The emotional weight of life’s challenges are often too much for one heart to bear. In this message we will learn how to carry pain and who to share it with so we can heal.
