I Kings 19 | Elijah was furious with the false prophets, so much so that he called down fire from heaven on them. Later, Jezebel threatened to kill him, so Elijah ran for his life. He sat down under a tree and begged God to take his life. Sadness and anger are often interwoven. This message will examine how anger debilitates us and how we can recover.

1 Peter 4:12-19, 5:10 | We have a purpose far higher than the latest election. We have a mission far bigger than any political platform. We are called and commanded to love God and love people and if we will remain faithful to that mission God promises to strengthen us in the process.

Philippians 4:4-8 | The level of fear, worry, and anxiety we experience is connected to the amount of time we spend staring at and scrolling through images on screens. What we’re looking for in technology can be found in God’s love for us and the joy it delivers when we surrender to it and train our minds to think about it throughout the day.

Matthew 25:31-46 | From classrooms to living rooms to boardrooms, we live in a country that rewards good behavior and punishes bad behavior. In this message, we will see that if we put our faith in Jesus, God will reward us for our good deeds. If we don’t put our faith in Jesus, God will punish us for our bad deeds.

Home to a gold mine, the citizens of Philippi were materially wealthy but spiritually sad. That’s why Paul challenges them in his letter to find joy in their relationship with Jesus. In this message we will look at how the spiritual poverty of Kentucky can be overcome with an eternal wealth that money cannot buy.

Acts 16:16-40 | The mission of God requires a special mixture of obedience and courage and an endurance that refuses to give up no matter how challenging the circumstances become. In this message, we will look at a joyful prisoner whose outlook on life was used by God to lead other prisoners to Jesus.

Galatians 4-5 | God’s intention toward us is freedom. He wants to see us live in the freedom that His Son secured on our behalf.

John 2:1-11 | Jesus liked parties and special events. We find him feasting, celebrating, and rejoicing throughout the Bible. One thing’s for sure: He knew how to live. In this message we’ll look at a wedding he attended in Galilee and how it brought life, joy, and hope to everyone else who was there and how it was a shadow of a future feast.

Job 8:21, Proverbs 15:15, 17:22, 18:24, Psalm 126:2, Luke 10:17-21 | Of all the most important things in life, good friends and laughter would be near the top of the list. Neither is complete without the other; they’re “emotional” twins. In this message, we’ll look at the blessings of laughter and friendship.

Weekend Scripture: Acts 16:16-40

Life can be really hard and unfair at times and it’s especially difficult to have joy in the midst of those challenging seasons. From miscarriages, to being laid off at work, to not getting the grade you think you deserve, how we respond will determine the quality of our lives and our relationships. In this message, we will look at how Paul and Silas demonstrated for all of us the value of having an eternal perspective in the face of earthly difficulties.
