Home to a gold mine, the citizens of Philippi were materially wealthy but spiritually sad. That’s why Paul challenges them in his letter to find joy in their relationship with Jesus. In this message we will look at how the spiritual poverty of Kentucky can be overcome with an eternal wealth that money cannot buy.

Matthew 6:1-4 | The practice of giving without pomp and circumstance orients our hearts towards God’s approval instead of the applause of other people. Nothing slays the dragon of selfishness like the discipline of serving those in need.

Weekend Scripture: John 2:13-17

When Jesus turned over the tables in the temple, he specifically targeted those who were selling pigeons. Pigeons were the sacrifice of the poor. The same sacrifice Mary and Joseph had to make when Jesus was dedicated at the temple. Jesus was for those who were being taken advantage of.
