Matthew 20:29-34; Mark 1:40-42 | When we love someone who is hurting, it isn’t enough to express sympathy; in reality, that changes nothing. Empathy is a better approach. Empathy empowers compassion to move us to action. This message will remind us that we’re called to identify and understand other’s pain and serve them compassionately.

Weekend Scripture: Matthew 8:1-3

Jesus not only healed a leper, but he touched him in the process. No one ever touched a leper. Jesus’ love and concern for the sick was more important than complying with social norms, laws, or customs. The followers of Jesus have an incredible legacy of caring for the sick that we must continue.

Weekend Scripture: Matthew 9:1-8

One of the many attributes of a sin-saturated world is physical illness. Hospitals and nursing homes are full of people who are emotionally and physically worn out because of the ups and downs of battling chronic diseases. Jesus has the ability to heal us and wants us to trust him to do so.
