1 Peter 1:3-9, 13-16 | Our culture has taught us that whatever we feel is not only real, but should be expressed. The Bible teaches us to control ourselves and stay calm. We don’t know what is ahead, but we can choose ahead of time to keep our heads.

Matthew 6:5-13 | Prayer is an act of acknowledgement that God is God and we are not. In prayer we humbly and confidently approach our Father trusting that He wants good for us.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 | Solomon had everything the world uses to measure success and he had more of it than anyone has ever had and referred to it as “chasing after the wind.” We are not in control of life’s outcomes, but we can control our faithful pursuit of following Jesus each day.

Matthew 16:1-4 | Instead of looking to our circumstances for hope and confidence, Jesus challenges us to look at who He is and what He has done. Instead of demanding that He do something for us we can see what He’s already done and live with faith moving into the future.

Galatians 3 | We are legally and objectively declared to be righteous based on our faith in Jesus.

Job 8:21, Proverbs 15:15, 17:22, 18:24, Psalm 126:2, Luke 10:17-21 | Of all the most important things in life, good friends and laughter would be near the top of the list. Neither is complete without the other; they’re “emotional” twins. In this message, we’ll look at the blessings of laughter and friendship.

Weekend Scripture: 2 Samuel 4:4; 9:1-13

Have you ever been completely out of something: money, food, strength? How about hope? Where can we go when there’s no one or no place to turn? The answer for a believer is to trust in the provision of our Father, to believe that He cares and will provide. Ever been there? Ever learned that? This message will focus on God’s provision in our lives and how to trust it.
