Build a Strong Future - Wednesday

Today’s Verse

John 14:4

You know the way to the place where I am going. (NIV)

Do you ever get lost? I do. Google Maps is my best friend because I need turn-by-turn instructions to get just about anywhere I haven’t been at least 3 or 4 times. Does anyone else feel like that? I describe myself as directionally challenged. Thomas, one of Jesus’s disciples, would know how I feel. When Jesus told the disciples they know the way, Thomas said that he didn’t even know where he was going. How could he know the way? Then Jesus famously answered, in John 14:6 “...I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to Father except through Me.”

So many people in this world don’t know that Jesus is “The Way”. And we, as followers of Jesus, have been called to show them The Way. The way that leads to life. The way that leads to hope. The way that leads to peace. The way that leads people back to a Father who loves them. This calling is not easy. There will be hardships and difficulties. There may be persecution. There may even be people who hate us so much because of Jesus that they want to harm us. But, as Jesus said, we must, “...take up (our) cross and follow (him).” Luke 9:23

If we want to build a strong future, we should offer others that same opportunity. That future starts on the firm foundation of a relationship with Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Nothing else matters as much as this.

REFLECTION

Who do you know that needs that relational foundation of Jesus? Begin praying about how you can help them.
