Build a Strong Future - Tuesday
Today’s Verse
John 14:2
“My Father’s house has many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” (NIV)
Have you ever gotten so involved in a game or sporting event that your anxiety got the best of you? I’m sure we all have. It’s the last 2 minutes and the Cats are down by 6 points. You are on the edge of your seat, and your blood pressure starts to rise. Ever feel like? You’re waiting to hear about that job, that accident, that cancer diagnosis. The world feels like it's stopped—and it’s spinning out of control at the same time. What if you already knew the outcome? Well, good or bad, you would know how to prepare. You could be ready.
Luke 12:4 says, “I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.” This scripture tells us that the Father is preparing a place for us, and if He says it, it’s true. Our future is secure. No need to worry. It tells us we have freedom here on Earth to do what He has called us to do. It tells us He’s in control, and in the end, we win. Just like if we knew at the beginning of the game that the Cats were going to win, there would be no need to stress about the outcome.
When my wife was in the hospital, dying of cancer, I had the knowledge and the understanding that my God is in control. I know how the story ends and once again, we win. Amy was getting one of those rooms and someday I would too. There is peace in knowing that the God of the universe has your back and is in control.
REFLECTION
Do you know that the God of the universe has your back? That if you follow Jesus, in the end, He wins! Take some time to reflect on the fact that no matter what happens in this life, your future is secure in Christ. Thank Him.
