Head-Heart-Hands — The Physical Side of Christianity - Thursday

Today’s Verse

2 Corinthians 9:7

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." (NIV)

Have you ever given a gift you couldn’t wait for someone to open? There’s a certain joy in giving when we’re excited about it.

But let’s be honest—sometimes giving is hard. It’s easy to hold onto what we have whether it’s money, time, or resources because we worry we won’t have enough for ourselves. However, generosity is an act of trust. When we give, we declare that we believe God is our provider and we shift our focus from scarcity to abundance.

And here’s the beautiful part—generosity doesn’t just bless the receiver; it blesses the giver. Studies have shown that acts of generosity increase happiness, reduce stress, and even improve our health. But beyond that, generosity connects us more deeply to God’s heart and to the people around us. When we give, we participate in something bigger than ourselves—we become part of God’s plan to provide for His people.

So, what would it look like for you to give joyfully this week? Maybe it’s paying for someone’s coffee, donating to a ministry, offering your time to serve, or simply being generous with your words—encouraging and uplifting those around you.

If you want to change a life, be generous with what you have!

REFLECTION

What is your attitude toward giving? This week, find one way to give joyfully—whether with your time, money, or encouragement.

Faith in action is being generous with what you’ve been blessed with!
