Jesus — Wedding at Cana - Friday

TODAY’S VERSE

Revelation 22:17

The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. (ESV)

Rejection is the worst. Whether it’s an attempted shot in basketball, a business deal you really needed to see come together, or you finally got up the nerve to ask her out and she kept you in “friend zone,” it absolutely stinks to be rejected. Adjacent to that feeling is the feeling of missing out. It wasn’t that you were rejected, per se, but you just missed out on something. Maybe you were invited but had an obligation and missed out on the most epic time your friends ever had. Or maybe you remember being in college, and you HAD TO STUDY, but no one else had that final exam, so they were hanging out, but you couldn’t go. Missing out stinks, too.

The text we started our devotional with today is an invitation. It is an invitation to join in life with Jesus. Most of us reading this have said yes to this invitation, and we have accepted the offer of life from Jesus. We have come and drank the water of life and know that when this life is through, we will spend eternity in Heaven. However, some reading this aren’t sure. And many reading this know people who, unless their hearts are changed, will miss out on Heaven.

I don’t want to end our week of study together on a downer, but the reality is that if we don’t accept the invitation to the life Jesus gives, we will miss out forever once this life is over. Also, those we know and love will miss out if they don’t accept Jesus’ offer of life through his saving grace. So, today our challenge is to see that as many people as possible share in the grace of Jesus and do not miss out on life eternal with him.

As we close out this week, let’s focus on our one more with the goal of sharing eternity in heaven with him or her and all the others who have proclaimed the name of our King, Jesus.

APPLICATION
