Discipline—Soldier
Weekend Scripture: 2 Timothy 2
Discipline is consistent training that produces a desired result.
This week, Scott kicked off a new series on Discipline, focusing on Paul’s imagery of a soldier in 2 Timothy 2. Living in hostile territory requires us to be strengthened by the grace found in Christ rather than relying on self-help. Enlisting in team Jesus means facing spiritual warfare, sharing in suffering together, and fighting against the distractions that derail our mission. Jesus is the only One who can hold up under the pressure of being your all, being your Savior, and being your Lord. Jesus enlisted you. By His grace, He saved you. Through the Holy Spirit, He sustains you.
